PI Wins iF Design Award 2019 for Helmetek Flex Shell Concept

We are very pleased to announce that the Helmetek Flex Shell concept developed by PI has won a 2019 iF Design Award!

Each year, the world’s oldest independent design organization, Hannover-based iF International Forum Design GmbH, organizes the iF DESIGN AWARD. The competition was intense: over 6,400 entries were submitted from 50 countries in hopes of receiving the seal of quality.

The Helmetek Flex Shell won over the 67-member jury, made up of independent experts from all over the world, with its unique flexible shell construction which helps to better absorb and distribute impact energy. This patent-pending innovation was developed to help reduce the repetitive head trauma linked to Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, or CTE.

At PI we relish tough challenges, and believe that design can be used to make a positive impact on the world. We are proud of our continuing work to help address the serious problem of head injury in professional sports. It is truly an honor to be recognized by the iF jury for our contribution to the cause.
